I'm throwing up this first OOC entry for hopeful future plotting shenanigans! And that's pretty much it. I'll comment to this with things I want to work out/possible CR I'd like to explore.

Also I'll change this theme and pick icons at some point but uh... test running.

For Rhade, I really want to keep with the idea of him being a minor art collector (I could see him being very much into Gustav Klimt and Macintosh). And still into strategy games. He probably has a "girl that got away" story.

For K, I'd like him to be investigating someone or be a part of a task force. Bouncing between cases will work, too.

Since Dylan is, at the moment, the only non-NPC mobster (who isn't actually an undercover Fed) I'd love to establish oocly his whole mob situation, maybe a few major NPCs since he'll be a natural target for all the cop/Fed types. With Dylan himself maybe being one of those mobsters where they *know* he's involved in criminal activity, but they can't get the hard evidence to make an arrest and bring him to trial. Hence with placing Rhade undercover.

I would be up for this tie, especially since there's just gang warfare and not really real warfare. So yeah, he'll be his right hand man/best man at his future wedding/have grand loyalty issues between Dylan and the police force.

Narvin could also be putting on the pressure to bring him evidence, for lack of someone else available at the moment. Also for the purpose of Narvin being a jerk at Rhade.

Farrah, should Irving and Narvin know each other from English civil service days? Possibly both knowing secrets about each other that neither wants exposed and in some uneasy truce of "I won't tell if you don't tell" or something?

Karin, I imagine that if Una has been performing in town for any length of time, Dylan has probably flirted with her.

Binky, Rhade as Dylan's right-hand-man (but secretly a Fed) like in the flood? (Narvin, I think, will have just arrived in town from DC, so I may do a thread for him meeting Kay.)

Ramen, want Hoffman to meet a new Fed in town and/or have a mobster try to subtly bribe him?

Yeah, I'd say she and Dylan have definitely flirted. She hasn't let anyone get too close (yet), but she's friendly with him. Though she'll be cautious, because there's always the chance he might have heard about the guy in New York who got half his head blown off and whose girlfriend disappeared at the same time.

And we should establish if Dorian is actually a member of the Drones (in the 'rarely comes by house in the country rich as Oofy Prosser' kind of way) and if he has some regrettable nickname therefor.

I am all for Dorian being a Drone! Which means he must have a Drone nickname, although the first thing that popped into my mind is "Cherry" because his last name is Red and because almost all the nicknames end in "y" or "ie." Or maybe something to do with him being a country boy.

I like Downy for the "What, was he growing a beard once?" "No, he lives in the North Downs." a nickname that makes sense if you know that it does but is otherwise a bit "huh?" at first glance. That seems Drones-like to me.

And if Bertie has met Dorian, or has a friend who's met Dorian, then by the rules of a preux chevalier, Bertie can be talked into doing pretty much any crazy thing Dorian might think of. Because that is how Bertie does friends.

Glorious. /name pun. I imagine Dorian knew him pre-Jeeves, assuming Jeeves is extant? His cold calculation was probably completely invisible to the Drones, but someone bright enough could probably see through the Good Natured Toff act.

He won't be too awful to Bertie. ...if only because he'd never hurt such a poor lamb, he's not HEARTLESS and also the dear thing probably wouldn't know a lockpick from a glasscutter.

Yup, Jeeves is extant! (In fact, I've asked to NPC Jeeves a little when necessary, otherwise Bertie will spend every thread pining. Or if you'd like to NPC Jeeves sometimes, that would be lovely! You do a marvellous Jeeves.) That makes sense that Dorian would be a pre-Jeeves Drone friend.

Bertie's knowledge of the tools of thievery is slim. But he *has* stolen artwork before, stealthy as a proper cat burglar (in Bertie's wildly inaccurate opinion of himself).

Any of the English characters, once they've talked to Una for a bit, should notice that her posh accent is maybe a little too much so. Like she's learnt it on purpose. Because she totally has. (Her original accent is pure Ladbroke Grove.)

I was thinking about posting an open log at her cabaret; anyone interested?

I like this detection! Should it be pre-America backstory or post-America knowledge or just current things? I have a feeling that Braxiatel will at the least have taken to Una's performances here.

How about current stuff and a little of her backstory? Such as that she was a Ziegfeld girl, and maybe something fishy happened that brought her here.

Also, as noted above, he may notice that her accent is probably not the one she originally grew up with.

Rhade will still like his art and his armor and his board games, so he would probably want to be in the museum a lot. So I'd definitely be up for some background connections and a lot of talk indicating one knows too much about the other?

(I'm pretty much cool with with Brax mathing out anything about his past).

I would be very happy with that! And I could easily see Brax going attached to having cagey bastard conversations with Rhade, with not quite saying anything either way.

Unlike Brax, though, he was a part of a poor immigrant family so even if he's very much into fine art, he has to settle for the occasional reproduction rather than anything original.

But at least that would result in lots of skulking around places where there is art.

Dorian Red is a poncy aristocrat who secretly steals paintings and sneaks out to pansy clubs to find attractive men and could give two figs about the local gangland politics except inasmuch as it a) endangers him and b) gives him targets.
